Symposium PPIM Volgograd ‘10
PPIM Volgograd ‘10, originally uploaded by gizmo_pony [cuti winter].
- Indoor photography memang mencabar :
- Sony A200 + vertical grip
- Minolta beercan 70-210mm F/4.0
- Kitlens 18-70mm F/3.5-5.6
- Pop-up flash memang tak cukup
- Lagipun kitlens aku ada masalah back focus, aperture blades tak sekata, sebab baru jatuh minggu lepas
- Lesson learned

ISO, Aperture & Shutter Speed : the Trio
For this photo, I used ISO 800, F/5.6 (the largest aperture at 70mm for my kitlens) and a shutter speed of 1/3 sec (not fast enough to avoid camera shake) – as a result, the subject is not sharply focused. I could use a higher ISO setting but then digital noise would be a problem, at least for my Sony A200.
ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed
ISO, aperture and shutter speed determine the exposure value (EV) of a photo. I will try to explain briefly about the Trio.
Kereta-oh-Kereta
Tanya diri sendiri apa tujuan sebenar membeli kereta ?

Out-of-Focus
- The main reason for me to buy a dSLR is because to get to know this fancy thing called bokeh effect, and only after I bought my 1st dSLR then I realize that there are many other things that I have to learn in photography
- Bokeh refers to the out-focus area behind, and in front of the focused subject
- It is interrelated with the term ‘depth-of-field’ (the DOF)
- The DOF marks the area which is in focused eg. the greater the DOF is, the more area is in focused, vice versa
Kedai Чайхана (bermaksud tea house) terletak berdekatan dengan hypermarket РЕАЛ menyajikan pelbagai jenis makanan halal. Datanglah beramai-ramai memajukan kedai ni, beri sokongan sikit.
Winter, Snow & Photography
Winter in Volgograd, originally uploaded by gizmo_pony.
- Woke-up around 5 o’clock in the morning, got the spirit to take some pictures outdoor
- Snowing heavily, I must be prepared
- Items brought :
- Sony A200
- Kitlens 18-70 f/3.5-5.6
- CPL 55mm
- Tripod
- a plastic bag
- As I have no UV filter (broken), I decided to use my hoya CPL to protect my kitlens
- Took a plastic bag, made a hole for the lens and covered the whole camera body
- Attached the camera to my tripod ; I am good to go !
- Managed to take few pictures, difficult to handle my camera which was covered by plastic bag, all my fingers started to numb, plus my lens getting mist

Testing Testing : Posting Pictures
- Love to take some photos recently, photography is becoming my real hobby. Some say this hobby is expensive, and I couldn’t agree more
- Still in progress to master some basic stuffs, post-processing, and of course eyeing for must-buy accessories eg. flashgun, lenses, filters, tripods, monopods …
- Not sure whether I can live without my camera for even a day. Hope to get bunch of great photos during this coming winter holidays
